NK Rust Stabilization Anti-Corrosion Method for the Maintenance and Repair of Bridges and Steel Structures NETIS

Inorganic coating: A long-lasting repainting method with three types of surface preparation. Solvent-free epoxy resin-based rust stabilization paint + inorganic paint.

NETIS Registration Number: SK-100009-VR (Promotional Technology) (VR) The surface preparation involves three types of grinding, and any rust that cannot be removed is stabilized with a solvent-free epoxy resin-based rust stabilization paint: NK-100-E. It is then protected with a durable coating method using an inorganic paint: Seal Coat 007M, which excels in electrical insulation and weather resistance. This method reduces noise, dust, and industrial waste generated during surface preparation. The paint system uses safe materials that do not contain harmful heavy metals. Since NK-100E is solvent-free, it does not compromise the active film. It has high gas barrier properties, preventing the intrusion of water and oxygen, which are factors that cause rust. Seal Coat 007M consists of two-thirds inorganic components, resulting in minimal degradation of the coating film due to ultraviolet rays (chalking) and providing superior weather resistance compared to fluoropolymer paints. The two-layer application of inorganic paint protects the primer paint, creating a long-lasting painting system. It is also possible to use the solvent-free inorganic paint Seal Coat 007U as a topcoat. This repainting method contributes to the maintenance and repair of bridges and steel structures where blasting is difficult, enhancing long-term durability. It is also suitable for repainting systems that contain harmful substances, lead and lead compounds, chromium and chromium compounds, and PCBs.

NK rust stabilization anti-corrosion method to reduce the number of stripping cycles.

It reduces the number of times the coating peels off.

The NK rust stabilization anti-corrosion method can be applied while leaving an active film, allowing for the retention of lead oxide rust-proof paint and other materials that cannot be removed with a stripping agent, while only the exposed steel parts can be treated with a type 2 surface preparation. This reduces the cost of substrate preparation and eliminates the need for environmental safety measures such as enclosure and clean rooms. The paint system is a safe coating that does not contain harmful heavy metals.

NK Rust Stabilization Anti-Corrosion Method for Repainting Lead-Containing Paints - NETIS Registered

Repainting lead-containing paint reduces costs with the NK rust stabilization anti-corrosion method.

Work such as stripping lead-containing paint must be conducted in accordance with regulations for the prevention of lead poisoning, requiring wet methods. However, lead-containing anti-rust paints like red lead cannot be removed by stripping, so a combination of two types of surface preparation is used. The NK rust stabilization anti-corrosion method can be applied while leaving an active film, which helps reduce surface preparation costs and safety measures. The paint system is made from safe materials that do not contain harmful heavy metals.

NK rust stabilization anti-corrosion method NETIS registered technology

We contribute to reducing life cycle costs for infrastructure preventive maintenance such as bridges and pedestrian overpasses.

This is a long-lasting repainting method that requires a surface preparation of at least three types of grinding. The primer used is a solvent-free rust stabilization paint that does not compromise the active film, ensuring a reliable application without defects. The intermediate and topcoat paints are inorganic paints that have a slower film wear rate than fluorine, providing double the film thickness to protect the primer paint.
